Recreation plays a big role in my life and it helps me to maintain my mental and physical health and well-being. I have always been a creative and energetic individual, maintaining a list of different hobbies including, horseback riding, hiking, yoga, knitting, sewing, painting, and baking.
About Me
My name is Jessica Wiener, I am from a small town outside of Toronto, and have lived in Halifax Since I started Dalhousie University in 2018. For as long as I can remember, I have wanted to go into a profession that would allow me to help people. I have always been an empathetic and caring individual, and this is what drove me to my career path. I choose to go into recreation therapy because I have been able to experience the power that recreation has on my well-being, and I want to use that to help others.
I believe in the power of finding one’s purpose and in the past four years through my education and experience, I have seen that recreation therapy can help guide people to discovering their purpose.
